all differ in their abilities to improve the skin's
appearance and in their level of risk. Usually, the more aggressive
procedure is more effective but the risks are higher. Each
individual must carefully weigh the very real risk of a bad outcome
with the benefits of the procedure.
We have found most effective skin rejuvenation programs to
require a combination of rejuvenating products and cosmetic
procedures specifically tailored the patient’s life style,
genetics, skin type and risk level. These products and procedures
ideally should be initiated in a certain order and in specific
combinations usually starting with the least invasive first. Each
regimen is continually fine tuned in response to each individual’s
reactions to treatments, current medical history and activities.

| By making some simple adjustments to your daily routine, you can delay the aging effects of time and environment and delay the need for invasive cosmetic procedures. |

Simple changes you can make now:
- Use retinoids plus glycolic acid products with the highest
unbuffered content available. These agents work better together
than either alone to rejuvenate the skin. While some over the
counter products contain glycolic acid, or other alpha hydroxy
acids, the most effective products are those recommended by
dermatologists and should be used under medical supervision.
- Wear a broad spectrum UVA and UVB sunblock of at least an SPF
of 15 every day, even during wintery, cloudy, sunless days. The
primary cause of aging of the skin is daily, incidental exposure
to the sun without adequate protection.
- Wear sunglasses that block both UVA and UVB radiation.
This
will protect the eyes as well as the delicate skin around them.
- Do not smoke. Smoking diminishes blood supply to the skin
causing the skin to age prematurely, as well as take on an
unflattering sallow tone.
- Avoid drinking excessive amounts of alcoholic beverages.
Alcohol dehydrates the skin and can cause the skin to age
prematurely.
- Drink plenty of water. Adequate amounts of water not only
maintain proper fluid balances, but dilute and flush wastes from
the body as well as hydrate the skin.
- Get ample sleep. Most of our body's repair and rejuvenation
occurs during sleep.
- Eat a nutritious well-balanced diet. A multivitamin supplement
may be taken if your diet does not contain the minimal daily
requirements of vitamins and minerals.
- Exercise regularly. It increases the flow of nutrients and
oxygen to the skin, which will give you a healthier glow.
